Orange Ricotta Cake Recipe

This cake uses a few simple ingredients. It’s a one-bowl cake recipe, which means fewer utensils to use and minimal clean up.  I have used the butter sugar creaming method to make this cake.

Ingredients

Ricotta- If it’s watery, drain it through a fine sieve.

Orange- You will need the zest of one medium orange and some of the juice.

Butter- Salted or unsalted butter

Sugar- Use granulated sugar or castor sugar.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1- Prepare the cake pan
Rub butter in an 8-inch cake pan, then line it with baking paper.

Step 2- Cream butter and Sugar
Add butter and sugar to a mixing bowl and use an electric mixer to mix until light and pale. Add the drained ricotta cheese to the bowl. Whisk for 4-5 minutes until they are well combined.

Step 3- Make the batter
Add the eggs, orange zest, and juice into the bowl and whisk, then add the flour. Mix for 1-2 minutes until all the ingredients are combined.

Step 4- Bake Ricotta Orange cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin.

Bake it in the oven at 170C for 40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

Bring it out of the oven and turn it on a cooling rack.

When it’s cooled, cut and serve.
