Italian Orange Ricotta Cake Recipe

Orange ricotta cake is a fluffy, delicious, and moist Italian cake. This ricotta cake recipe is a must try for anyone who wants a snack or dessert cake that is easy to make, smells amazing, and tastes delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 160 g Butter
  • 180 g Sugar
  • 250 g whole milk Ricotta cheese drained
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 zest Orange
  • 1 tablespoon Orange juice
  • 160 g Self raising flour

Method
 

  1. Prepare the cake pan
    Rub butter in an 8-inch cake pan then line it with baking paper.
  2. Cream butter and Sugar
    Add butter and sugar to a mixing bowl and use an electric mixer to mix until light and pale. Add the drained ricotta cheese to the bowl. Whisk for 4-5 minutes until they are well combined.
  3. Make the batter
    Add the eggs, orange zest and juice into the bowl and whisk, then add the self raising flour. Mix for 1-2 minutes until all the ingredients are combined.
  4. Bake Ricotta Orange cake
    Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin.
    Bake it in the oven at 170C for 40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
  5. Bring it out of the oven and turn it on a cooling rack.
    When it's cooled, cut and serve.
