Oven Baked Cajun Shrimp Recipe

This oven baked Cajun shrimp is bursting with flavors, juicy, and delicious. It is easy and quick to make baked shrimp, and it can be served as an appetizer with dipping sauce or served with sides like mashed potatoes or rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g (1lb) Shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Smoked
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic granules/Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion granules/Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon Thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare the shrimp - Rinse the shrimp, pat them dry with paper towels, and place them in a medium-sized bowl, then set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Make the Seasoning- Prepare the Cajun seasoning by mixing the Paprika, Cayenne Pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, and salt in a separate small bowl.
  4. Season Shrimp Pour the Cajun seasoning and olive oil into the shrimp bowl and mix them well.
  5. Bake - Arrange the cajun seasoned shrimp on a baking tray. Leave space in between the shrimpss and don't overcrowd the baking tray.
    Bake shrimp in the oven at 400F/200C for 10 minutes or until cooked (the shrimp will have a pink/orange-like color when cooked).
  6. Bring out the shrimp and let it rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can double the seasoning and keep half to use at another time to save time on mixing the seasoning the next time you make this recipe.
  • Olive oil can be substituted for melted butter in this recipe.
  • You can squeeze some fresh lemon juice on the shrimp if you like.
  • Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the oven immediately because leaving it in the oven will continue to cook the shrimp.
  • Serve with any dipping of your choice or with side dishes
